Rutgers won its largest single commitment in its history Friday as five-star running back Savon Huggins chose the Scarlet Knights of North Carolina.
Huggins is expected to sign a letter of intent Wednesday.
Huggins made the announcement at his high school, preparation of St Peter in Jersey City, which proves as changeable in his press conference when he was on the ground. He made his first goalie in North Carolina, then removed to reveal a cap at Rutgers University, and the "chopping wood" gesture coach Greg Schiano made popular.
The 6-foot, 190-pound senior had his choice of Notre nearly all schools in the country, an official visit to Auburn national champion before taking over Rutgers UNC and a lady.
It is the fourth largest in the country running to Scout.com, and is the first player to choose a place in New Jersey New Rating Rivals.com Scarlet Knights.
