AUBURN, Washington - A new search for victims of the Green River killer still turn up in the same ravine, where a woman's skull was discovered last week - but it proved to be animal bones.

Over 50 researchers by the steep terrain on Saturday combed for evidence, as a follow up to the recent discovery of a skull belonging to Rebecca "Becky" Marrero.

Marrero, probably a victim of Green River killer Gary Ridgway had not been seen since 1982. His skull was west last week to West Valley Highway near South 292nd Street found by a youth group.

King County sheriff's deputies and volunteer search and rescue explored the region on Saturday with climbing equipment to rappel off the steep slopes of the gorge and special tools to get through the thick brush.

Some "potential remains" were in a few hours in an area of the throat found. Shortly after, he still may not be far away in another region.

The remains were carefully collected and packaged for the analysis, found later that they were the bones of an animal.

"Nothing seems to be to find the man," said Sgt. John Urquhart Sheriff's Office King County. He said there were no plans to return to the area.

Marrero was placed on 3 December 1982, when a motel room in S. 168th and Pacific Highway South next seen, Urquhart said. According to Marrero Charley project received a phone call, asked her mother, her 3 year old child to show for the evening, and the house. It has not been reviewed. Marrero was 20 years old at the time.

Marrero was missing in the sheriff's office from his mother at the 20th July 1984. Their disappearance was investigated by the Working Group of Green River, and it was probably one of his Green River victims.

Urquhart said Marrero was probably one of the first victims of Ridgway.
