Taco Bell defended his mixture of seasoned meat

Montgomery, Ala. (AP) - Taco Bell officials Tuesday rejected the claims in a lawsuit that the meat in tacos, burritos and other products not yet produced beef.

Taco Bell President Greg Creed said in a statement that the lawyers who filed the complaint including their facts wrong and Taco Bell is considering legal action against those making the allegations. He did not explicitly this type of action could look like Taco Bell.

"At Taco Bell, we find our beef from the same trusted brands that you buy at the supermarket," said Creed. "We start with 100 percent USDA certified beef. Then baked in our proprietary blend of herbs and spices, to taste our signature seasoned beef Taco Bell and texture. "

The class action filed Friday in federal court in California by the law firm Montgomery claims Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis & Miles of Taco Bell's meat mixture contains binders and fillers.

A lawyer for the firm, Dee Miles, said Taco Bell is saving money by adding charges, because beef is the most expensive part of their products.

"It give them a competitive advantage. It is an economic advantage "over other companies that sell Mexican-style foods," said Miles.

Miles expressed concern over threats of lawsuits Taco Bell.

"We are on absolute facts as presented in the complaint before a federal court in California said," he said.

Creed said Taco Bell is proud of the quality of its beef and to identify the spices and seasoning ingredients on their website.

According to this site the ingredients used to season meat Taco Bell are salt, pepper, onion powder, tomato powder, oats, soybeans lectithin, sugar, soybean oil, garlic powder, extract yeast, citric acid, and cocoa powder.

The lawsuit on behalf of clients and Taco Bell California resident Amanda Obney not looking for damages was filed, but asks the court to Taco Bell, to be honest in advertising.
