Sharm El-Sheikh resort in the spotlight of the world such as Cairo Egypt Mubarak Flees - USA Today

The resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, winter holiday beach popular for Europeans unfamiliar, but most American visitors played a role in the political drama in Egypt, as President Hosni Mubarak would have headed there the Friday after resigning from office.

Sometimes referred to as "the peace of the city" because it was the site of many international peace conferences, is the Sharm el-Sheikh (pop. 35 000) the best resorts on the southern tip of Sinai Peninsula and the house known to many upscale hotels including Four Seasons Ritz-Carlton. A global magnet for divers, he was killed in the news last December after an unusual number of shark attacks has left a tourist German tourist and wounded four others. Five years ago he was the target of terrorist attacks that killed 88 people in Egypt, most of them.

In contrast to Cairo and Alexandria, Sharm El-Sheikh remained relatively calm since the protests began. Although the United States and other governments have warned their citizens, anyone traveling to Egypt to avoid England - the source of most international visitors to the Red Sea - has stopped advising against travel to the area isolated and heavily guarded.

Mubarak in Sharm el-Sheikh life on and off the last ten years. It has houses and palaces, "Why Egypt CEO David Wiles said Travel Weekly. "There should be no reason why the news he came back he was having adverse effects."
