As prospects, scouts, front office staff and head coaches in Indianapolis for the NFL Combine, carry on the eternal question of the usefulness of the combination is the prediction of future success.
There are countless stories of players who have "won" the harvester and then to have a career quite trivial, or has been remarkable for the wrong reasons.
The combination is useful to all stakeholders and to obtain some measurements on them. It is also useful for the opportunity to prospects without flying to 30 cities in the next two months interview.
But the combination is a stab in the dark when it comes to predicting future success in the NFL. There are so many intangibles when it comes to success in pro. The combination is not the whole point of intangibles. It is to show how fast these guys run and maneuvers together.
It is the Wonderlic test, but the test is another attempt, something that can not be measured accurately measure.
past successes are not an accurate indicator of future success. As "good" to the draft is just a matter of luck as it is skill. "Good" writers are those who make the fewest mistakes.
