The Lady Lions finished the regular season losing three of their last five games, but thanks to their 79-64 victory over Illinois 11 seeds in the semifinals of the Big Ten tournament on Saturday night, none of this matters. Penn State is back for the championship game for the first time since 2004 on Sunday.
Hot-shooting Maggie Lucas led the team in scoring with 23 points to 14.7 overall and 5-9 shooting from 3-point territory. Senior Julia Trogele finished with 20 points and nine rebounds and Alex proceed Bentley completed the scoring in double digits Lady Lions with 11 points and three assists.
Penn State marked a double-digit lead in the first half. The fight against Illini roared back to win two away nearly half of the time, however, and even took the lead early in the second half before the Lady Lions back later for the good times and has led to a comfortable lead until the end of play
The team is the winner of Ohio State and Michigan State for the championship tomorrow afternoon, 12:00 to 3:30 p.m. clock on the Big Ten Network, which should be at the Penn State vs. Minnesota followed on the same channel is a face. The big tires before the day, fans of Penn State.
