A lunar eclipse occurs either Monday night or Tuesday morning depending on where you are. When the sky is clear, people in North America, Central America and a region of South America have an excellent view of the year, not total lunar eclipse.
The event will take place on Monday evening on the West Coast (early clock 23.41 GMT) Tuesday morning on the east coast (start clock 02.41 EST). It is expected to take about 3 1 / 2 hours, AP reported.
"It is perfectly arranged so that America can see it," said Fred Espenak eclipse expert at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, according to AP.
Scientists predict that the moon appears darker than usual during the event. It will probably look like reddish or brown due to the recent volcanic activity, blocked the atmosphere with ash and dust.
A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes through Earth's shadow, blocking the sunlight.
