www.mahalo.com Lady Gaga leads this year's nominees for the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, which will be handed out on September 12, 2010. Nominations were announced on August 3, 2010. All total, Lady Gaga has 13 nominations - the most ever for a single artist in VMA history. Gaga is up for Video of the Year, Best Female Video and Best Dance Video, among others, for "Bad Romance." She'll be competing against herself in the Video of the Year category - her video collaboration "Telephone," with Beyonce, is also a nominee. Others in the Video of the Year category include Eminem (another multiple nominee, with eight), 30 Seconds to Mars and newcomers Florence + The Machine. Shortly after the VMA nominations were announced, Lady Gaga issued a statement saying "I'm so honored for all the little monsters and self-professed freaks of the universe, to have more VMA nominations in a single year than any artist in MTV history. Ironically, I'm even more proud it's an unlucky number; 13." This year's MTV VMAs will air live from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. The awards show returns to California after a year in New York City. Fans who want to vote on their favorite nominees can do so on the official MTV VMA website through September 12.
